The Great Divide: Two Types of People in the Future

Since having kids, I’ve found myself naturally drawn to other families—watching the children’s expressions and how they interact with their parents. The dinner table is a particularly telling observation point. These days, it’s so common to see a screen plopped in front of a child just to get them to eat.

Beyond the proven research about decreased attention spans and the constant craving for overstimulation, we are now in the AI era. This isn't the same as the old "we watched TV when we were kids" argument. I believe humanity is heading toward two extremes: the "Intellectual" and the "Zombie." While people who live on "autopilot" have always existed, the future will only amplify this gap. We’ll see a growing mass of the mediocre, the homogenized, and the numb, contrasted against those with fierce, independent human thought.
